The moon is Waning Gibbous

Wow.
I cannot believe that I wrote nothing of any real value at all last week. I mean, I know I was busy and tired and all that, but, wow. I had no idea how little time I’d been spending on the blog.
Of course, I’m in the middle of two website redesign projects and I’m trying to help Ms. NewGal with her business and get one of my personal creative projects started before the end of the year, not to mention get some reading in, but, still… I just had no idea how full of busy, little details my life had gotten. And, too, I think my blog was getting stale, so maybe a little bit of slow time on the old thing is appropriate. After all, when I first started writing this blog, back before everyone had a blog and they were “cool” or “hot” or “scoop” or whatever the kids call it these days, I wrote about twice a MONTH, so I guess I shouldn’t be quite so hard on myself. I’ve dumped a lot of junk here in the past six years or so. A break now and then wouldn’t kill me. And, of course, I’ll still do my Friday Fun link, no matter what.
Don’t worry, angst and misery aren’t the only things I have to write about. It’s just that they give me the time to write. All that other stuff, the fun stuff, takes up so much time that, well, I haven’t any left over to write about all the fun I’m having!
Hey, it’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it. 😉

  1. Do you have your CCNA and CCNP? Im going to be taking classes in August for them and was wondering what you do on a daily basis at work once you have them?

Im coming from a business major (marketing) but have always been a closet geek. I have denied part of my true self. I like techiness. Im going to give it a shot.

  2. Well, don’t take it the wrong way, but don’t you think you should find out what those certifications are going to get you before you spend the time, effort and money on them?

To answer your question, no, I don’t have them. I have my Novell CNE, my Linux+ and about 15 years experience. With your CCNA or CCNP, you’d be certified, and probably qualified, to manage networking hardware produced by Cisco, including, but not limited to routers, switches and “other” network devices. And, that’s pretty well what you’d do all day.
    Good luck!

  4. Jill, that’s the sweetest thing anyone’s said to me in the comments on my blog ever, I think. When thing settle down at work, and home, I’ll write more. In fact, I have something in my queue about how blogs make other kinds of writing hard to accomplish. Know the feeling? 😉

  5. It’s not my blog that makes my other writing hard to accomplish… it’s my emotional aversion to whatever content I’m trying to avoid. Using my blog as an excuse would be… well, an excuse.

I’m happy to spread the happy commenting!
