Legally make a silencer?

Just in case the NSA isn’t already watching me…

While chasing a link for something else, I found a site that tells you how to register with the ATF to legally make and own a silencer. This seems impossible to me, but, well, if you follow the links you can get the forms for yourself! What a country!

  1. I see that you live in the Houston area and are building silencers. How hard was it to get the form approved by the police? What did you have to do? I am thinking about doing it, but not sure how to go about getting the paper work signed. Can you help?
    Thanks,
    Steven

  2. No, Steven, you are mistaken. I live in the Houston area, but I am NOT now, nor do I ever plan to build a silencer. And, no, I can’t help you get the paperwork signed. Nor would I help anyone get the paperwork signed if I could.
I also don’t think I’d trust someone coming from a node labeled “nodea.anadarko.com”, either. Not that I have anything against Anadarko, but the “no dea” thing makes me a little disinclined to help you build something dangerous. Good luck though.
